Palworld Shortest Breeding Path Finder

A shortest breeding path is the fewest breeding steps that turn a Pal you have into a Pal you want. Pick a start and a target, and the tool lists each pair to breed, in order.

Plan a route

Worked example: Lamball to Anubis

With no limits, the fastest route from Lamball to Anubis takes 3 steps:

  1. Lamball + Turtacle Terra (variant) → Dazemu
  2. Dazemu + Cryolinx → Cryolinx Terra (variant)
  3. Cryolinx Terra (variant) + Anubis → Anubis

How the path finder works

Each step pairs the Pal you hold with a partner and keeps the child. The tool searches every possible partner at every step and returns the first route that reaches your target, which is always a shortest one. We tested this logic against the source's own minimum-step table: 89,401 comparisons, zero differences.

Limits

The finder assumes you can get each partner it names. Use the owned-only option when that is not true. Pairs that depend on parent gender are marked in the steps.

The longest route in the table

The longest shortest route takes 7 steps, from Gildane to Chikipi:

  1. Gildane + Lapiron → Quivern
  2. Quivern + Chikipi → Sweepa
  3. Sweepa + Green Slime → Herbil
  4. Herbil + Green Slime → Rooby
  5. Rooby + Green Slime → Foxparks
  6. Foxparks + Green Slime → Lamball
  7. Lamball + Green Slime → Chikipi

When no route exists

Some targets have no route at all. For example, Grizzbolt only breeds from two of itself, so no chain of other Pals reaches it. The finder reports this instead of guessing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the shortest breeding path in Palworld?

It is the smallest number of breeding steps that turns one Pal into another. In this table, the longest shortest path between any two reachable Pals is 7 steps.

What does must pass through do?

It forces the route to include one Pal you choose. The tool finds the shortest path to that Pal first, then the shortest path from it to your target.

Can I limit the path to Pals I own?

Yes. Tick the owned-only box and every partner in the route must be a Pal you selected in What Can I Breed. The Pals you create along the way count as held automatically.
