Legendary and High-Rarity Pals: Breeding Routes

Illustration of a crowned egg above four rarity badges

Players often call the rarest Pals legendary. The game data does not use that word, but it stores a rarity value for every Pal. Of the 73 Pals with rarity 8 or higher, 51 can be bred from other Pals. This guide shows how far each one sits from a common starter.

What does high rarity mean?

Rarity is a per-Pal number in the game data. Values run from 1 to 20 in this table. We use 8 or higher as the line for high rarity, which covers 73 of 299 Pals.

High-rarity Pals you can breed

This table lists the 51 high-rarity Pals that other Pals can produce. The last column counts the breeding steps from Lamball, which we use as a common starting Pal. Your own starting point may give a shorter route.

High-rarity Pals you cannot breed

22 of the 73 high-rarity Pals only appear when two of themselves are paired. No chain of other Pals reaches them, so you need your first one from outside breeding. The full list is in our guide to Pals that cannot be bred from other Pals.

How to plan a route to a rare Pal

The longest route in the table above reaches Faleris Aqua (variant) in 4 steps: Lamball + Nyafia gives Sweepa; then Sweepa + Jormuntide Ignis (variant) gives Verdash; then Verdash + Panthalus gives Jormuntide; then Jormuntide + Faleris gives Faleris Aqua (variant). Use the shortest path finder with your own starting Pal to see whether you can do better, and tick the owned-only box if you want a route you can begin today. Then check each parent on its Pal page before you spend eggs.

Most of the cost in a rare-Pal plan is passive skills, not species. Read the passive skill odds to budget eggs for the traits you want.

Frequently asked questions
